The second regional-level workshop on "Monitoring and Evaluating the AIDS Epidemic" supported by UNAIDS, UNODC, UNDP and USAID in partnership with federal and regional health authorities took place from 05-07 June 2007 in Orenburg. This workshop brought together Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) specialists from a wide range of government and non-governmental organizations as well as international organizations actively involved in AIDS prevention, treatment and care programs in the Orenburg region

The second “Monitoring the AIDS Pandemic (MAP) meeting” was conducted in Moscow, Russian Federation, 25-27 June 2007. The meeting brought together eighty participants and observers from the twelve countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, including experts from the National AIDS Programmes of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Byelorussia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

The pilot festival “Youth and Human Rights” in Veliky Novgorod on 27-29 June was conducted in cooperation with the Administration of the Novgorod oblast, the Guild of Russian Film Makers, the Russian Union of Journalists and UNAIDS. The festival became the focal point of the Day of Russian Youth (27 June).

During a nine day tour through five countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, a group of eleven participants met with policy makers and civil society organizations to raise awareness on the vulnerability of women to AIDS and the lack of effective projects in that area.
On the 6th of June 2007 a roundtable took place at the World Bank in Moscow, to report about project outcomes and to bring the `Women against AIDS` tour to a close.
