Commonwealth of Independent States regional conference on military and AIDS  takes place in Saint Petersburg on 16 - 17 September

National delegations representing armed forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine) are discussing a range of issues including HIV education and awareness, condom promotion and distribution, strengthening of voluntary and confidential counseling and testing services, and improving the skills of health personnel to provide HIV-specific prevention, treatment, care and support. This conference will set in motion a process to start the establishment of the CIS Regional Network on Military and AIDS.
