Round table dedicated to collaboration of governmental and non-profit organizations working in the area of HIV/AIDS in Orenburg and Orenburg region was held in Orenburg Kosmos movie theatre on October 27. 

The round table was organized by representatives of All-Russian public organization of people living with HIV in Privolzhsk federal district with participation and support of Orenburg AIDS Centre, Orenburg city administration and UNAIDS.

            Over 30 representatives of various governmental and non-profit organizations, Russian Orthodox Church, and journalists participated in it. Member of Coordination Council of AU PLHIV, Alexei Burlak moderated discussion.

            Much attention in the discussion was paid to the problem of drugs. Despite all measures taken to prevent illicit drug trafficking and use, this issue remains the most burning for Orenburg and Orenburg region, specifically for such cities as Orsk and Novotroitsk. Positive dialogue took place between specialists of AIDS Centre, ANO Bureau for drug addiction issues, and social agency Youth Health. The topic of NGOs funding was also touched upon.    

            On the same day Stars Against AIDS exhibition comprising 25 panoramic portraits of a well known photographer Serge Golovach was open in Kosmos movie theatre. Orenburg school students visit the exhibition aimed at reduction of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV and awareness raising with regard to HIV epidemic in an organized way. Volunteers, representatives of the union of PLHIV provide HIV counseling to students. 

After Orenburg Stars Against AID” exhibition will be on display in Orsk where it will be also attended by high school and vocational school students.
